Palestine The Album Concert (Headlining Blakstone)

7th Century Records Proudly Presents
Palestine The Album by Blakstone
[

Date: Saturday 6th January 2007
Time: 3:30 pm -10:00 pm
Event: Charity Concert & Event on and for Palestine (Headlining Blakstone)
Tickets: £10 in advance £15 at the door (Book at www.fairfield.co.uk or call the box office on 020 8688 9291)

Supported by: Interpal, Islamic Human Rights Commission, Islamic Impressions and The Muslim Green Pages

This event is a must attend event for all those who support Palestine. Seventh Century Records our label has organised this event to be the voice of the Palestinians and their plight. Additionally we have invited what we consider to be some of the most sincere campaigners and prolific speakers for the Palestinian cause to our medley of nasheeds, hiphop and poetry to present our audience with a heart-felt, political and thought provoking rendition best expressed in the following three words: Palestine The Album. The event will take place on the 6th of January 2007 at Fairfield (Concert Hall) in Croydon. The Venue has a 1900 seats capacity and doors will open from 3:30 pm. There will be prayer facilities, halal catering, segregated seating and 100% halal content and environment.

The project will be presented through the following mediums:

1. The launch of ‘Palestine the Album’ compilation CD on 06/01/07 at the concert
  • Compilation Album (27 track double cd) featuring a variety of artists
  • A medley of poetry, hiphop and nasheeds
  • Covering a diversity of subjects: Jenin, the stories of Faris, Iman al Hams, the destruction of olive/orange groves, right of return, etc…
  • To include speeches and commentary
  • Profits to be donated to Palestinian charities through Interpal

2. A live concert performance and variety show on 06/01/07
  • A live performance of the Album
  • Charity and fundraising appeals
  • A variety of speeches from some of the UK’s most prolific speakers on the Palestinian cause, addressing the political, humanitarian and media dimensions that have plagued the region
  • Video presentation of Palestinian documentary
  • Political satire and amateur dramatics presentations
  • Campaign material and exhibition stalls
This is what its all about peeps, this is the Blakstone ethos; getting involved in projects and bringing out that type of music that is beneficial for the ummah. Please attend and try to bring as many people with you. By filling this venue on such a subject we will be sending a clear message to our brothers in Palestine as well as to those who are oppressing them and that is that no border or distance can remove our bond of brotherhood and that the youth of this ummah will not be silenced as far as speaking out against injustice and representing the truth are concerned.

In that light fam we ask of you the following:
  1. Please commit to attending the event, if possible, and bring a minimum of two people with you each
  2. Buy the 2 disc compilation Album (Palestine The Album) at the event
  3. Respond to this email to let us know if you will be joining us on the day or not (either way if you could please let us know as it gives us an indication of how many people to expect)
  4. Get the word out regarding the event
May Allah reward you all for all trhe support and love you have shown us through out the years and we will see you at the event on the 6th of January 2007.

Wasalaam

Your Brothers

There was music in this concert. Therefore it wasn't 100% halal content and enviornment.

Unless the only instrument used was the one-sided duff of course.

Are you people serious? I just went on their website to hear a few of their tracks and I swear they could've come straight out of a 2Pac or Biggie album.

Somehow I can't imagine the namaazi's at my local mosque getting down to these tunes.

They may be singing about Islam and Palestine or whatever but it doesn't hide the fact that this MUSIC has haram written all over it.

ha! I typed 'blackstone concert' in youtube and I found a video of one of their 'gigs'. You gotta see this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NIJ73GUsYBY

It seems like the music has certainly taken control. You could easily mistake that for a Tim Westwood gig.

Stop fooling yourself people. Remain steadfast in your deen.
