Movies to watch out for during the year
Ive decided to create this thread to inform you of the movies that will be out during the up coming months.
So here you are! NOVEMBER MOVIES Friday 10th November 06 Fur Biopic of American photographer Diane Arbus. Nicole Kidman's the one peering through the viewfinder. The Prestige Christopher Nolan waves his wand over a period pic about two feuding magicians (Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale). Breaking & Entering Jude Law, Martin Freeman and Juliette Binoche are among the cast for Antony Minghella's story of long-term Londoners whose lives intersect in King's Cross. Starter For Ten James McAvoy stars a working-class student who falls for a posh lass in the film version of David Nicholls' 80s-set novel. The Host Korean horror about a mutant beastie that rises out of the river and attacks Seoul. Twelve And Holding American indie about three teenagers who suddenly grow up when one of their peers dies. Friday 17th November 06 Casino Royale Daniel Craig pulls on the tuxedo, picks up the licence to kill and - hopefully - resurrects the tired Bond franchise with an adaptation of the first 007 tale. Tenacious D: In The Pick Of Destiny Jack Black writes and stars in a fictitous big-screen tale of his band's quest to find a 'magical pick' which will transform them into gods of music. Rock on! Joy Division A Soviet prisoner-turned-KGB agent must elude capature in 60s London in this Cold War drama. Nightmare Before Xmas 3D Tim Burton's gorgeous stop-motion fairytale returns in three-dimensional glory for the festive season. Friday 24th Novemeber 06 Jackass 2 Johnny Knoxville and friends do even more extremely painful things to each other. And yep, we'll laugh. Again. Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause It's a month before Christmas, you're in the cinema and yep, Tim Allen's at it again in another stab at the festive comedy genre. Pan's Labyrinth A lonely and dreamy child creates a world full of fantastic creatures and secret destinies in a new tale from director Guillermo Del Toro. Something New An African-American hotshot of a lawyer must choose between her ideal man and a free-spirited - and white - gardener in this rom-com starring Sanaa Lathan. The Rocket Post Scottish tale about a German scientist who arrives in the Western Isles with a plan to deliver post by, yep you've guessed it, a rocket. DECEMBER MOVIES Friday 1st December 06 Flushed Away Kate Winslet, Ian McKellan and Andy Serkis are among the voice cast for Aardman's animated tale about a posh penthouse rat washed into the sewers of London. Big Nothing Our own Simon Pegg joins David Schwimmer and Natasha McElhone for a black comedy about a jobless teacher who hatches a blackmailing scheme. Deck The Halls Danny DeVito and Matthew Broderick are neighbours at war when one of them decorates his house with Christmas lights so bright you can see them from space. Groan. Hollywoodland Ben Affleck attempts to redeem himself by playing TV's Superman George Reeves in the years before his mysterious death. Adrien Brody, Bob Hoskins and Diane Lane co-star. The Nativity Story Keisha Castle-Hughes plays Mary, mother of God, in Thirteen helmer Catherine Hardwicke's tale of her journey to Bethlehem. Stranger Than Fiction A man hears a narration of his whole life in his head in this fantasy from Finding Neverland director Marc Forster. Maggie Gyllenhaal, Dustin Hoffman, Emma Thompson and Queen Latifah join the voice in Will Ferrell's head. Friday 8th December 06 Happy Feet Get your toes tappin' for a toon about a penguin who can't sing for a mate but tap dances for one. Robin Williams, Elijah Wood and Brittany Murphy provide voices for the p-p-p-penguins. The Holiday Cameron Diaz, Kate Winslet, Jack Black, and Jude Law line up for writer/director Nancy Meyers' tale about an American woman whose luck turns when she swaps houses with an English lass. The Covenant After royally messing up Exorcist: The Beginning, Renny Harlin has another stab at the supernatural with a tale about four men who must destroy an evil they unleashed years earlier. (And no, we don't know what that really means either.) The US Vs John Lennon Doc about how everyone's favourite Beatle became a persona non grata in the states due to his political activism. Friday 15th December 06 Eragon Christopher Paolini's dungeons and dragons book comes to the big screen with John Malkovich, Jeremy Irons and Sienna Guillory leading the cast. Grounded It's Home Alone but at the airport and with added kids, as a group of children bond during a Chicago snowstorm. Black Christmas Buffy's little sis Michelle Trachtenberg is among the sorority sisters dropping like flies during the festive break in this remake of the 1974 horror. *damn cant wait for this one!!* Gone Two back-packing Brits encounter a mysterious American in the outback of Australia. Friday 22nd December 06 Déjà Vu Man on Fire's Tony Scott and Denzel Washington reteam for a thriller about an FBI agent who travels back in time to save a woman from being murdered - and then falls in love with her too. Flags Of Our Fathers Clint Eastwood's Oscar-friendly drama about the six men who raised the US flag at the WWII battle of Iwo Jima. Jamie Bell, Ryan Phillipe, Paul Walker star with a script by Million Doller Baby writer Paul Haggis. Tuesday 26th December 06 Night At The Museum Family-friendly comedy starring Ben Stiller as a National History museum security guard who releases an ancient curse which makes the animals come to life. *cant wait for this one either* Perfume: The Story Of A Murderer Tom Tykwer directs Patrcik Suskind's pungent book about a homicidal perfumer in search of the perfect scent. |

JANUARY MOVIES
Friday 5th January 07 Apocalypto Mel Gibson's follow up to The Passion Of The Christ follows a young man on the run from becoming a human sacrifice in the last days of the Maya Kingdom. Oh, and yes, it's all in the Mayan language. Babel Cate Blanchett, Brad Pitt and Gael García Bernal are the not unattractive cast in Alejandro González Iñárritu's globetrotting drama. Miss Potter Renée Zellweger takes the lead role in the Beatrice Potter biopic with support from Ewan McGregor and Emily Watson. White Noise 2 Nathan Fillion takes over from Michael Keaton in another spooky tale about a man who can identify people who about to die. Let's Go To Prison Prison comedy about a career criminal who figures out the best way to get revenge on the now-dead judge who sent him to jail: watch the official's obnoxious son try to survive the clink. Friday 12th January 07 Pursuit Of Happyness Will Smith is a struggling salesman who attempts to make it big on Wall Street - all while being a single parent. The Last King Of Scotland Giles Foden's novel about 70s Uganda under dictator Idi Amin comes to the big screen with help from Forest Whitaker, Gillian Anderson and James McAvoy. Friday 19th January 07 We Are Marshall Matthew McConaughey dons the twaid and a tache for a 70s-set drama about American Football coach who must rebuild his university squad after a tragic plane crash. Runing With Scissors A young man comes of age in the 70s - despite the efforts of his nightmare family. Joseph Cross, Brian Cox and Annette Benning star in the adaptation of Augusten Burrough's memoirs. Pathfinder Remake of a Norwegian classic about a Viking boy raised by the Native Americans who killed his clan. Music helmer Marcus Nispel is the man in the director's chair. The Return Brit helmer Asif Kapadia arrives in Hollywood for a horror starring Sarah Michelle Gellar as a woman haunted by a murder. Friday 26th January 07 The Blood Diamond Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Connolly and our own Jimi Mistry star in Edward Zwick's comedy about a farmer, a smuggler and a syndicate of businessmen who match wits over the possession of a priceless diamond. Bobby A huge ensemble cast - including Anthony Hopkins, William H Macy, Martin Sheen and Elijah Wood - star in Emilio Estevez's (yes, really) self-penned movie following 22 guests of The Ambassador Hotel on the day Bobby Kennedy was assassinated there. Venus Richard Griffiths and Vanessa Redgrave play two ageing thesps whose lives are turned upside down by a stroppy teenager. Enduring Love's Roger Michell directs from Hanif Kureishi's script. Friday 2nd February 07 Catch A Fire Philip Noyce directs a drama about an unwilling terrorist in Apartheid-era South Africa. Tim Robbins and Derek Luke star. Dreamgirls Jamie Foxx, Beyoncé Knowles and Eddie Murphy star in the big-screen version of the Broadway musical about a soul singing trio in the 60s. For Your Consideration Ricky Gervais is among the new faces for Christopher Guest's latest mockumentary about a group of actors attracting awards buzz. Luvvies beware! Notes On A Scandal Richard Eyre directs Cate Blanchett and Judi Dench in the big-screen version of Zoe Heller's novel about a teacher who has a fling with one of her students. Gridiron Gang Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson is the latest in a long line of inspirational movie coaches tasked with teaching a group of teenage delinquents the finer points of American Football. Yawn... Friday 9th February 07 Charlotte's Web Dakota Fanning is the human star while Julia Roberts voices the porker in a big-screen version of the much-loved kiddies' piggy tale. Dirty Dancing (20th Anniversary) Two decades after Patrick Swayze made Baby - and countless teenagers - swoon, the 60s -set coming-of-age tale is back. Goal 2 - Live The Dream Kuno Becker's footie player gets transferred from Newcastle to the distinctly hotter Real Madrid in the second sequel of the rags-to-riches trilogy. Music And Lyrics By Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore play, respectively, a washed up composer and the girl who inspires him in the new rom-com from Miss Congeniality helmer Marc Lawrence. Rocky Balboa Sylvester Stallone peels his 60-year-old body off from the floor for yet another round in the ring. Friday 16th February 07 Hot Fuzz Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright's follow up to Shaun Of The Dead about a London copper banished to the countryside. Bill Nighy, Martin Freeman, Steve Coogan and Nick Frost are among the British talent. Excited? You should be. The Fountain Hugh Jackman and Rachel Weisz star in the long, long awaited sci-fi opus from Darren Aronofsky. The Science Of Sleep Barmy helmer Michel Gondry (he of Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind) directs Gael García Bernal as a man who can't distinguish dreams from reality. Friday 23rd February 07 The Good Shepherd De Niro directs Matt Damon, Angelina Jolie and (yay!) Joe Pesci in a drama about a CIA man at the birth of the agency. *gonna b good de niro n pesci back in action cnt wait* The Visiting Nicole Kidman, Daniel Craig and Jeremy Northam star in Oliver Hirschbiegel's remake of Invasion Of The Body Snatchers. A Guide To Recognizing Your Saints Shia LeBeouf grows up in Astoria, New York while Robert Downey Jr plays his older self returning to meet his estranged father. |

MARCH MOVIES
Friday 2nd March 07 Ghost Rider Nicolas Cage finally revs on to the big screen as the comicbook motorbike rider with a flaming skull. Eva Mendes and Peter Fonda are on hand to put out the fire. The Good Night Gwyneth's brother Jake Paltrow directs Martin Freeman, Penélope Cruz, Danny DeVito, Simon Pegg and his sister in a tale about a jingles writer and his mid-life crisis. Wind Chill Emily Blunt and Martin Donovan star as two students who break down on a deserted road and are attacked by the ghosts of people who have died there. Freedom Writers Hilary Swank goes back to school to play an inspiring teacher transforming the lives of her "at-risk" pupils. Friday 9th March 07 The Good German George Clooney is an American journalist returning to Berlin to find his former mistress (Cate Blanchett) in Steven Soderbergh's retro post-war drama. Smokin' Aces Ben Affleck, Andy Garcia, Alicia Keyes and old friend Ray Liotta join Narc helmer Joe Carnahan for an action comedy about a Vegas magician turned FBI squealer who attracts a collection of assassins and bounty hunters. Norbit Eddie Murphy plays both a mild-mannered man and the awful fiancee from whom he must escape in another 'comedy' from director of The Shaggy Dog. Friday 16th March 07 Sunshine Danny Boyle goes sci-fi with a Solaris-sounding tale about a space crew's mental and physical disintegration on a mission to the sun. Could well be a classic. Zodiac David Fincher's eagerly awaited crime thriller with Jake Gyllenhaal, Robert Downey Jr and Mark Ruffalo on the trail of a real-life serial killer who terrorised San Franciso during the 60s and 70s. Becoming Jane Anne Hathaway plays the young Jane Austen and James McAvoy the young Irishman she fell in love with in this good-looking period pic. Stomp The Yard Dance pic about an LA street dancer who enrols in university only to find his hoofing skills desired by two competing fraternities. One only for the dance fans then Friday 23rd March 07 Catch And Release Jennifer Garner is a widow who discovers secrets her dead husband kept hidden. Juliette Lewis and Kevin Smith (we kid you not) lend much-needed comic support. Stardust Layer Cake helmer Matthew Vaughn brings Neil Gaiman's fantasy graphic novel to the big screen. And he's attracted a great cast including Robert De Niro, Claire Danes, Peter O'Toole and even Ricky Gervais. Friday 30th March 07 300 Frank Miller's graphic novel about the Battle of Thermopylae in 480 BC gets the CG treatment care of Dawn Of The Dead helmer Zack Snyder. Very promising. Mr Bean's Holiday That Atkinson man's at it again and this time the rubber-faced goon hits the Cannes Film Festival. Please no. *gonna b funny* Meet The Robinsons Disney animation about a kid who travels into the future and into the lives of the Robinson family. Tom Selleck and Angela Bassett lend their voices. Friday 13th April 07 - yes friday the 13th Reign Over Me Adam Sandler is the surprise choice to play a grieving man who lost his family on September 11th. Don Cheadle, Jada Pinkett-Smith and Liv Tyler help him to rebuild his life. The Reaping Hilary Swank is a lapsed Christian and professional religious debunker who investigates the reappearance of the biblical plagues in America's Deep South. Turistas Teen slasher pic about a group of typically nubile backpackers who find themselves marooned in the Brazilian jungle. Friday 20th April 07 The Kingdom Jamie Foxx, Jennifer Garner and Chris Cooper star in a thriller following US government agents investigating a bombing in the Middle East. Friday 27th April 07 Blades Of Glory Will Ferrell and Napoleon Dynamite's Jon Heder take to the ice as two banned Olympic ice skaters competing as a very special pair. Lucky You Eric Bana's long-postponed Las Vegas drama about a poker player and the girl (Drew Barrymore) who tries to save him from his personal demons. Magicians Brit comedy about two rival conjurors whose estrangement springs from an unfortunate guillotine mishap. The cast includes Robert Webb, David Mitchell, Jessica Stevenson and Peter Capaldi. |

Friday 4th May 07 Spider-Man 3 Spidey discovers his evil side, there's a new love interest and not one but two baddies - Venom and Sandman - in Sam Raimi's spandex sequel. Bring it on. Wild Hogs Tim Allen and William H Macy lead a band of wannabe easy riders from the 'burbs who hit the road - and then encounter the genuine thing. Friday 12th May 07 28 Weeks Later Sequel to zombie horror 28 Days Later (see what they did there?) which finds American forces arriving in a desolate Britain but yep, you've guessed it, the rage virus ain't dead. Shooter Mark Whalberg is the wonderfully named Bob Lee Swagger, a retired marksman who's framed for the assassination of the President and must fight to clear his name. Yep, that old one again. The Hitcher The 1987 stalker horror hits the road again with Sean Bean instead of Rutger Hauer as the hitchhiker from hell. No Reservations Catherine Zeta-Jones is a successful chef whose whole life changes when she becomes the guardian to her niece (Little Miss Sunshine's Abigail Breslin). Friday 18th May 07 Black Snake Moan Samuel L Jackson's god-fearing musician and Christina Ricci's troubled young woman form an unlikely couple in the latest from Craig Brewer, the writer/director behind Hustle & Flow. Friday 25th May 07 Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World's End It's all aboard (again) as Will, Elizabeth and Captain Barbossa sail off the map to save Cap'n Jack. |

Not bad going. Perfect Stranger Halle Berry's reporter investigates a murder case - and Bruce Willis' suspicious multi-millionaire - in this cyber-thriller from Confidence director James Foley. Friday 29th June 07 Are We Done Yet? As if 2005's Are We There Yet? wasn't enough, Ice Cube returns with a 'sequel' which finds his long-suffering character encountering problems with his builder. Thrilling. Friday 29th June 07 Shrek The Third Justin Timberlake joins the mighty toon franchise as the heir to kingdom of Far, Far Away. And what's the bet he does some singing too? |

Friday 20th July 07 Evan Almighty In a semi-sequel to Bruce Almighty, funnyman Steve Carell is a senator instructed by God - yep, Morgan Freeman again - to build an ark. Friday 27th July 07 Ratatouille Pixar heads for the sewers in a story about a poor Parisian rat striving for the life of luxury. Brad 'The Incredibles' Bird directs. The Simpsons Movie Everyone's favourite dysfunctional family come to the big screen in a tale which finds Springfield evacuated - possibly for ever - after Homer accidentally dumps nuclear waste in the river. Nancy Drew Julia's niece, Emma Roberts is the teenage detective who stumbles upon a murder mystery involving a movie star in LA. Friday 10th August 07 Surf's Up Sony's animation arm's toon about the Penguin World Surfing Championship. Shia LeBeouf, Jeff Bridges and Jon Heder are among the voices. The Bourne Ultimatum Paddy Considine joins in on the action as Matt Damon and The Bourne Supremacy's helmer Paul Greengrass reunite. Friday 17th August 07 Hot Rod Comedy about an accident-prone daredevil who attempts a moped jump to impress his stepfather. License To Wed Robin Williams is a marriage counsellor who puts a soon-to-be-wed couple through a tough preparation course for married life. Friday 31st August 07 Fool's Gold Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey are an estranged married couple whose life is reinvigorated when they find a clue for a lost treasure. |

Underdog When a lab accident goes wrong, a dog is granted superpowers in this supermutt shaggy dog story. Friday 19th October 07 The Heartbreak Kid Ben Stiller and Michelle Monaghan star in the Farrelly brothers' tale about a man who encounters another woman only seven days into his honeymoon. Halloween Rocker turned slasher pic director Rob Zombie remakes John Carpenter's 1978 horror. It ain't going to be pretty. *let c* Friday 26th October 07 The Assassination Of Jesse James Brad Pitt is the lengendary gun-slinger and Casey Affleck the guy who killed him in Chopper director Andrew Dominik's long-awaited drama. Case 39 Renée Zellweger is a social worker fighting to save an abused child who turns out not as innocent as she looks. Beowulf The Polar Express helmer Robert Zemeckis uses his motion-capture technology to bring the Old English epic poem about a warrior's mission to kill a monster to the big screen. Enchanted A cartoon queen is banished from her kingdom to the real world of New York City. James Marsden, Timothy Spall and Susan Sarandon are a few of the stars in the fairytale. Fred Clause Paul Giamatti is Santa and Vince Vaughn his bitter, older brother who's forced to move in with him in a festive flick from Wedding Crashers helmer David Dobkin. Friday 14th December 07 The Waterhorse A boy discovers an egg which hatches a sea creature straight out of Scottish legend. Ben Chaplin, David Morrissey and Emily Watson are among the adults who, presumably, don't believe him.
