I heard you should always let it fall off itself, as you would do with mauli which you tie during a puja.

Some say if you keep in on for a year, your sister buys you a gold bracelet to replace it. That must be a recently made tradition.

I'm going out with Pirate today... movie and dinner.

yeah its pretty freaky they been on so long. loads of others fall off after a week but these have been on for time.
